What are the 3 things you want to see happen in 2009 for Open Education?

1. to link open education to the national curric project - encourage generation of student content to populate those repositaries - establishing networks of communication across sectors / jurisdictions

2. national or statewide pilot projects, proofs of concept to consider the pedagogy and T&L in this open source stuff.

3. conference or workshop - practical users share experiences to inform policy makers

4. rational arguments for debunking myths about oe and foss - responses to the common arguments against...

5. parents - can be powerful stakeholders in the education of their children

6. roadshow - getting more people on board - time to get out there and disseminate this info to the unconverted. An authoritive body behind it to give credibility. Bring the discussion to them. Clear cases needed. Centralised portal - national.

7. national agreement about things that are produced with public money, should be made publicly available.

8. 1-more aus university be persuaded to emulate the MIT opencourseware model... or iLabs.

9. central site with sandboxes with a range of platforms available for experimentation.

10. open source software embedded in govt procurement policy

11. publicise fact that NSW judicial system uses open source software. would be a good case for dispelling myths. promote successful examples.

12. Reality TV show!!!
