WhatsMissing

From OpenEducationWiki

What are the gaps?

After reviewing the points generated in our earlier sessions... what are the gaps? what are we missing?

  • Assessment

What are the implications of higher level of sharing and collaboration in relation to the teaching process when it comes to assessment and ranking?

Collaboration / competition / league tables

  • Research around informed practices.

What's the evidence?

  • Stratefied set of workshops around OER - for different audiences - teachers / technicial / admin / policy etc

specialised workshops for different sectors / educators / leaders

  • who are the allies of the OE movement in other sectors?
  • how do we find out what the outcomes are? is it really making a difference?

evidence of impact on student learning and teachers lives

  • clarity of documentation - allows for greater ease of access - and progress taking things forwards
  • collaborative technolgies online - students using them out of school - digital citizenship - awareness of cybersafety issues - developing competency with managing risk - not just keeping 'safe'
  • open education impact relies on targetting non-consumption areas - find some quick wins in 2009, where there is no current contest with proprietary software.
  • learning design - deeper research for understanding pedagogy - do we need change? documentation?
  • How do we get a National Agenda - interoperability - how do we share collections? Repositories... connect them - avoid redundancy.
